Cirion's boys! (The Archers)

The Osgiliath Veterans' archers are ready for battles. Ivory is the main colour that I use to distinguish them from the Warriors of Minas Tirith. Ivory is the shield colour of the banner bearer, whom I plan to use as a member of the warband in the absence of Cirion. Below you can see the veterans next to the original miniatures. It is easy to compare and see the conversions I have done to them. I put the converted Captain of Minas Tirith among the veterans. Some times I will use him instead of Cirion, he matches perfectly the banner bearer and all the rest.

Cirion's boys! WIP (Swordsmen and Spearmen)

Osgiliath Veterans, Swordsmen and Spearmen, are ready for painting. The plastic heads are Perry Miniatures from the Mahdist Ansar-Sudanese Tribesmen box*, while the metalic ones are Warlord Games. Weapons and shields are Gripping Beast. The bare arms are from the same Perry box and all the rest (beards, hair, moustaches, bags, pouches, etc) are greenstuff.

This is what I have done so far!

That's it for today. Stay tuned for more!
   * Special thanks to Mr Llama for the idea of using Perry miniatures for the LotR games!

Cirion's boys! WIP

Cirion is ready! Now, he has to wait for his warband. I did the first stage of the project so far. I converted some Minas Tirith warriors to Osgiliath Veterans. I used various heads, hands, weapons, etc from different companies such as Perry, Warlords and GB.
I am planning to leave for a week for summer vacations, so Cirion has to wait a little, I am afraid! When I am back, I will post the conversion procedure step by step for each one of the Veterans. Till then you can see some photos of them as they are now.

Minas Tirith banner-bearer

I know that a lot of people enjoy battle reports more than conversions. Unfortunately, we do not play so often as we wish. Especially this period of year, we do not play at all due to Summer vacations.
I am thinking to start a new project, a warband of Osgiliath Veterans. I have Cirion, the Lieutenant of Amon Barad, "the boldest of the bold" and a set of three Osgiliath Veterans, not painted yet. And I have to convert nine Warriors of Minas Tirith to complete a full warband. Although, if you have Cirion you do not need a banner-bearer, I made this miniature first. I used greenstuff for the cloak and its fur, a GB shield and the spear of a Knight of Minas Tirith as the flag. Below you can see the final result, the initial miniature of Warrior of Minas Tirith with his spear and some stages of the conversion procedure.

I would like to welcome EinarOlafson and WNT to my blog.
   That's it for today. Enjoy!
